My name is Heather Astroff and I am a registered clinical Social Worker. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University and a Master of Social Work from New York University. I have been a practicing clinician for over twenty-five years in health care and community-based mental health settings. As a therapist, partner, and mother of two teens, I understand the joys and struggles of keeping our busy and complex lives in balance.
My approach to therapy is integrative, compassionate, and flexible, tailored to each unique person. I strive to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and genuine care. I am skilled in helping clients who are looking to improve relationships, struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, or wanting to improve their confidence or sense of self-worth. Through deep understanding and compassionate curiosity I help clients explore challenges, and to develop strategies that lead to lasting changes in line with their personal goals and aspirations.
Adult individual work:
As a seasoned clinician, I come with a unique understanding of the challenges people face in their lives. I specialize in working with depression, and anxiety, exploring interpersonal relationships, burnout, self-compassion, boundary setting, and loss.
Therapeutic Modalities:
My approach to therapy is integrative, compassionate and flexible. I have a background in various evidence-based therapy approaches, including, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused and narrative therapy.
