Amanda Rice
RCT-C
Hello and welcome!
My name is Amanda Rice. I am a Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C) and educator. I have had the pleasure of supporting young children, adolescents and families for over eighteen years. I truly love the work I do and am honored to be able walk alongside folks on their therapeutic journeys. I approach my practice from a place of warmth and genuine care, pulling on ones strengths and values to build capacity for managing life’s challenges.
Over the course of my career, I have developed a specialty in working with children, youth and individuals who experience neurodivergence and/or experienced trauma. I specialize in working with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodivergent subtypes. I offer evidence based approaches that are aimed on building capacity in the areas of self-compassion, working memory, cognitive flexibility (flexible thinking), inhibitory control (cognitive, behavioral, and emotional control), executive functioning and self-esteem.
In addition, I have a special interest in supporting folks managing stress, anxiety, burn out, depression, OCD, chronic health conditions and life/age transitions.
In my work with couples, I recognize that all relationships and their challenges are unique. I strive to offer a space where we can achieve balance and find our footing as team. It is my experience that such an approach values the voice of each partner as we move through the challenges that are showing up in your relationship. In couples work, I draw from an EFT informed approach.
Specialties: I use social emotional programs such as Zones of Regulation, We Thinkers, and the Superflex Curriculum when working with young clients.
When working with individuals, families and couple partnerships I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities from an attachment informed lens. Some such modalities include such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Therapies and mindfulness-based approaches.
